The allegations relate to four journalists, one police officer and six other individuals and cover a range of alleged offences. While the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) refused to reveal the identities of those in the files, it is believed the allegations under consideration relate, among others, to Guardian journalist Amelia Hill, former News International chief executive, Rebekah Brooks and former News of the World chief reporter Neville Thurlbeck. Giving details of the development, Keir Starmer QC, the Director of Public Prosecutions, said the four files related to investigations being carried out by the Metropolitan Police – Operations Weeting, Elveden, Tuleta, Kilo and Sasha. The four files include: • One journalist and one police officer with relation to alleged offences of misconduct in public office and the Data Protection Act.
