Eleven arrests have been made in connection with the supply of heroin and cocaine in North Lanarkshire. Strathclyde Police said the arrests had been made on Tuesday after a special CID operation in the Bellshill area. Seven men aged between 20 and 44 years old were arrested along with four women aged between 31 and 41. All of the suspects are currently in police custody after the operation targeting drug dealing. Detective Chief Inspector Pat Campbell said the arrests came after the eight-week operation in response to concerns from members of the public over drug dealing. He added: "The operation carries on and our financial investigators are already working on seizures and restraints under proceeds of crime legislation. "I hope that the residents of Bellshill will be reassured that this proactive activity will continue within the area and to I would ask that they contact their local police office to report any further incidents."
